Hair loss advice online is mostly written to sell you something. We want to be the place you can trust. That starts with telling you exactly who checks our work.
Our medical reviewers
We're appointing practising dermatologists (MD or DNB in Dermatology, registered with a State Medical Council or the NMC) to review our guides. Until a page has been reviewed, it says "Medical review pending" at the top. When a reviewer signs off a page, their name and the review date appear there instead.
We'll list every reviewer here with their qualifications and registration number. Reviewers will be paid a fixed fee per page, never based on which products or clinics a page mentions, and we'll publish any ties they have to brands, pharma companies or clinics.
How a page gets reviewed
- Writer drafts the page from guidelines, peer-reviewed research and product labels. Every claim gets a source.
- Dermatologist reviews for accuracy, safety and missing warnings. They can block publication.
- We publish with the reviewer's name and the review date at the top.
- We re-review medicine pages every 6 months and other pages every 12 months, or sooner if new research or a safety alert appears.
What we will never do
- Tell you a product will cure hair loss.
- Recommend a prescription medicine without telling you to see a doctor first.
- Rank a product or clinic higher because it paid us.
- Publish before/after photos without written consent.
Found a mistake?
Email corrections@hairloss99.com. We reply within 3 working days. Medical corrections are checked by a reviewer and noted at the bottom of the page with the date.
This page explains our process. It is not medical advice.
